Wearing Many Hats, Finding Joy in the Juggle

Lately, life feels like a carousel of roles—funeral director, writer, mentor, creative entrepreneur. I just gave my website a much-needed refresh (finally!), and I’m deep into writing a cemetery profile that’s both haunting and beautiful. There are other stories brewing too, including one about my microneedling experience—because yes, even in the midst of grief work, self-care matters.

I’ve also been mentoring some incredible young funeral directors. Their passion reminds me of why I started in this field: to serve with heart, dignity, and grace.

Meanwhile, the weather grows colder, and the holidays inch closer. I’d love to be out hopping from shop to shop, soaking in the season—but work calls. I’m constantly trying to find balance, carving out moments of joy between deadlines and duties.

One recent joy? Writing an article about vanilla fragrances. It was such a treat chatting with the beauty advisors at Bloomingdale’s—so far from my long days at the funeral home, yet so close to my heart. These pieces aren’t about death. They’re about happiness, sensuality, and being uplifted. They remind me that beauty and legacy can coexist.

Here’s to honoring every hat I wear—and finding light in unexpected places.
